CHURCH
MEMBERSHIP
Becoming a member of Heritage Memorial Church is really saying, "I love the
church! You can count on me to share in the ministry!" We expect
that you have received Christ as your personal Savior and Lord, can give evidence
of life and words of such decision, and give assurance that you desire to live
a consistent Christian life. We encourage you to prayerfully consider making
Heritage Memorial your church home. If you are interested, indicate your
desire by calling the church office. We will then send you information and
an invitation to attend the next membership class, which is very informative and
will orient you to Heritage Memorial. If you would like more information
about the church, please call the church office at 335-1079.

MISSIONS DEPARTMENT
The
Missions Department strives to present foreign missions to our church family in
a variety of ways. One Sunday evening each month is set aside as Missionary
service, where missionaries are invited to share concerning their individual ministries.
Our children are exposed to foreign missions in the Sunday School, Junior Church,
and Kid Power Programs. Specific needs of our missionaries are brought to
the Lord each Tuesday evening by the Missionary Prayer Band.
MISSION
MINDED MEN:
This group meets every second Saturday morning of the month
to discuss missions and projects over breakfast. Work teams are formed and
sent out from within this organization after assessing the needs of different
fields and deciding how we can best assist them.

OUTREACH
DEPARTMENT
We
believe the church that reaches outside of the sanctuary walls will bring people
to Christ. Members of the congregation go on mission trips, distribute food and
clothing and more. The Inner City Mission in Columbus is a regular recipient of
the Outreach Ministry.
CHURCH
EXTENSION DEPARTMENT:
CLOTHING
CENTER:
Heritage Memorial Church believes in meeting not only the spiritual

We house and maintain a Clothing Center on our property that is open the first
and third Thursday of each month from 1:30-3:30 PM. There is no cost for
the clothing. Workers in the Center are people within the church who donate
and volunteer their service to this ministry.
TRANSPORTATION SERVICES:
In addition to the Clothing Center, we are equipped with transportation services.
This is offered to those within the city limits on Sunday mornings and Wednesday
evenings. Each vehicle is properly supervised. For transportation
information, please contact the church office at 335-1079.

HERITAGE
CHURCH LIBRARY
A
Trip to the Library
Mother, Father, Dick, Jane and Sally were entering
Heritage Memorial Church. "Look!" cried Sally. "There is my Sunday
School teacher, Mrs. Dunn!" She ran in and gave her a big hug. Dick and Jane
'spotted' Mr. Chris at the same time. "Hello! How are you today?" Mr.
Chris greeted them. They talked about what they were learning in A.C.T.S. Soon
they were chatting with their friends on the way to class.
Mother and
Father decided to follow them to class. On the way, they discovered the library.
"Look, Dick. Look, Jane. Look, Sally." said Mother. "There
are lots of books in here. Here, Sally, do you like this one?"
"No,
but Dick will! He loves adventure books. Here, Dick. Here's one for you. I like
picture books. Look, Mother. Here are lots of books for boys and girls my age.
Oh! Here is a book for Jane. It has girls on the front talking and smiling. Here,
Jane, you love this one!"
Mother turned around. "My, my!"
she said. "Look, Father. Videos! Story Keepers and Veggie Tales, and many,
many more for the children. Gaithers and Southern Gospel, comedies, sermons, Promise
Keepers, and so much more for us. Oh, and look - a rack of CD's, cassettes and
DVD's! And the wide selection of books - family, marriage, men, women, Christian
living, prayer, missions, evangelism, reference, Bibles, study guides, novels,
biographies, autobiographies and true sotries......... We will have to come back
when we can spend more time. We can come thirty minutes before and after church
to look and see. Dick, Jane, and Sally, we must go to class now. We will meet
here after the worship service to check out this great selection!"
YOU CAN TOO! SEE YOU THERE!
MUSIC
DEPARTMENT
The
Music Department of the Church endeavors to involve all ages. We have J.A.M.,
a separate choir for children that stands for "Jesus And Me", as well
as the Heritage Worship Choir for adults, both of which have scheduled rehearsals
each week. We encourage the participation of all talented vocalists and
musicians in all the services, with special music and offertories integrated into
each Sunday Worship service. We believe that music plays a key role in the
worship experience and encourage all with a gift in this area to become involved
in the many programs and other special and weekly music presentations. The
annual Christmas program, held on the second weekend of December, is a highlight
of the music ministry year, involving all ages and talents in singing, drama,
and technical assistance. Nationally-known guest artists are brought in
each year for concerts. Examples of past artists are: Janet Paschal,
The Talley Trio, Legacy V, SHINE, The Martins, and more.
Our music is upbeat, with a blend of contemporary and traditional hymns,
choruses and psalms. Our services are highlighted by our Worship Choir, the Heritage
Praise band and many special presentations. The second weekend of December is
always exciting as the Worship Choir and Drama Ministries combine to present the
Christmas story.

Preschool
and Children's Ministries
These
ministries are priorities for us. We have dedicated, loving volunteers who are
very committed to nurturing children. We offer J.A.M. (Jesus And Me), a dynamic
children's choir for elementary age children. Junior Church, Sunday school and
yearly events provide occasions for children to have fun and learn about Christ
in a loving atmosphere. A.C.T.S. (All Children Truly Special) is a ministry exclusively
for children ages four through the sixth grade. Kids will delight in the puppets,
interactive stories, games, prizes, and snacks every Sunday at 10:30 AM and Wednesday
at 7PM.
ALL
CHILDREN TRULY SPECIAL
The days of flannel graph are officially
over. With all the technology in today's society we needed to "step it up".
A.C.T.S. has been designed to minister to our "techno kids". We took
the hype of Bible school and combined it with the teaching of a normal junior
church for extrordinary results.
We truly believe in Matthew 19:14 when
Jesus said,
"Let the little Children come unto me and do not
forbid them."
Children
just as adults, have the ability to accept Christ. That is why our work is so
vital.
In A.C.T.S. the children are divided into age groups, 4, 5, &
6 year olds, 1st-2nd graders, 3es-4th graders, and last but definitely not least
5th-6th graders, with 5th and 6th graders having their own room each week! We
spend the first 10-15 minutes all together, then we break into the age groups.
This begins the rotaion from the lesson to games and snacks, with each group participating
in each area for an average of fifteen minutes. The reason for the "split"
is so the Bible lesson can be taught on the level that best suits each child's
age. The games are wacky and wild. Some are messy, and wet; you can imagine how
the kids love this.
A.C.T.S. offers all types of children's activities
throughout the year, including festivals, Fun Fridays, Children's Choir and many
more things!

LADIES MINISTRY
Heritage Memorial Church
Fully Alive
Ladies Ministry
The
Heritage Memorial Church women's group known as "Fully Alive" has announced
its plans for the year.
Fully Alive kicked off their program in October
with Candy Pfeifer, Mary Jane Carter and Kathy Holbrook ministering in song and
sharing God's message to the ladies.
A Beth Moore Bible Study will be held
during the year. "A Woman's Heart, God's Dwelling Place" will be the
focus to help the ladies learn about God's will in their own lives. Smaller groups
will discuss the lesson and then the combined groups will see the video of Beth
Moore. The following months will continue in the Beth Moore study. On February
12, there also will be an evening of pampering and relaxation.
May 14 will
be the mother-daughter-friend banquet. More details will be announced in the spring.
"We
encourage all women to join us in our search for a close relationship with our
Lord and enjoy the fun and fellowship as well".

MENS MINISTRY
The
Mens Ministry at Heritage Memorial has been formed to meet the ever-changing
needs of men in the 21st century. Through various activities, golfing, hunting,
fishing, trapshooting, sports outings and more, the Mens Ministry seeks
to help men adjust, in Gods way, to the daily demands of todays society.
By fellowshipping and sharing the Word of God with other men, Gods Word
comes to grow in the lives and affairs of everyday life. This bonding in Christ
allows men to share their lives and faith with others. Through fellowship with
men of faith, stimulus is provided to help each man become the Man that God has
intended him to become.
SENIOR
ADULT MINISTRIES
"Prime
Timers" is a senior adult ministry for people age 50 and over that exists...
- To
share our love for Christ with others
- For
appreciation of those who have influenced our lives for Christ
- To
provide times of fellowship and sharing through organized activities throughout
the year.
Senior
adults love to be involved in this program. Monthly outings are planned, going
places such as LaComedia Dinner Theater, Blue Jacket Outdoor Drama and more.
